Previous Group Trips
Our first Lighthouse Explorers group trip was to the Beachy Head and Belle Tout lighthouses on 12th May 2024. We had a wonderful group of 10 enthusiasts who came to hike over the hills and enjoy the company of like-minded folk.
The second journey was to Old Dungeness Lighthouse, a genuinely fantastic lighthouse with an incredible climb to the top. While ascending the lighthouse, there are many opportunities to consider the area’s maritime history, as the lighthouse itself now doubles up as a museum. The general public can explore the lighthouse, but it’s worth checking the opening times before you make the trip.
The final trip of 2024 was to Nash Point Lighthouse. Unfortunately, due to poor weather, the attendance was limited. Whilst I was the only attended, I still had a wonderful time.
We kicked off the 2025 season with incredible trips to Smeaton’s Tower and Eddystone Lighthouse, with strong attendance on both days. The latter involved a private charter boat, which took us 20km offshore! To read about all of our past trips, check out the full rundown here.

The perfect group trips for solo travellers
These trips are perfect for those keen to start going on group trips and meeting new people. I’m sure you’ll find a group of warm lighthouse enthusiasts on the trip, who will make you feel more than welcome. So far, we’ve had a mixture of attendees coming in groups, couples, or solo. I want to think that everyone has had fun and learned more about lighthouses, regardless of who they arrived with.
If you still feel nervous about coming on your own, please feel free to reach out to me! I can tell you more about how many people will be attending each trip.
Our Merchandise
There was a timelessness here, and yet a sense of time greater than any before, that could only be found in a lighthouse.
