Our first Lighthouse Explorers group trip was to the Beachy Head and Belle Tout lighthouses on 12th May 2024. We had a wonderful group of 10 enthusiasts who came to hike over the hills and enjoy the company of like-minded folk.
The second group trip was to Old Dungeness Lighthouse, a genuinely fantastic lighthouse with an incredible climb to the top. While ascending the lighthouse, there are many opportunities to consider the area’s maritime history, as the lighthouse itself now doubles up as a museum. The general public can explore the lighthouse, but it’s worth checking the opening times before you make the trip.
Our most recent trip was to Nash Point Lighthouse. Unfortunately, due to poor weather, the attendance was limited. Whilst I was the only attended, I still had a wonderful time.

“There was a timelessness here, and yet a sense

of time greater than any before, that could only be found in a lighthouse.”
